The incomparable parks and gardens of Paris

We don’t understand how or why it persists, but there is a myth that Paris lacks green spaces. To discredit this belief once and for all, here are our top 5 parks and gardens of the capital. Discover these and you’ll not see the city in the same way again. From extensive lawns to groves of trees, from flowerbeds to works of art and glorious perspectives, everything that makes the perfect urban park can be found within the boundaries of Paris. Visit them and enjoy peace and beauty.

The Jardin des Tuileries and the Jardin du Luxembourg

We mention these together as it’s impossible to separate these two historic public parks from the history of Paris. Both the Jardin des Tuileries and the Jardin du Luxembourg are intimately intertwined with our city’s rich past.

Created at the behest of, respectively, Catherine de Medici and Marie de Medici, they are the purest expression of the tradition of French gardens. Bordered by magnificent palaces, the Louvre and the Luxembourg, they are adorned with statues and water features. Children can enjoy a candy floss and various rides and activities while adults relax on the benches and chairs for a picnic, a spot of sunbathing or a quiet read.

The two parks are home to various events such as bandstand concerts, free photographic exhibitions (Luxembourg), a garden festival and a traditional summer funfair (Tuileries). You can also book a guided tour to discover all their secrets. Please note that to reach the Jardin des Tuileries you can take bus service 72 from a stop just 2 minutes from the hotel. It gets you there directly.

The Jardin des Plantes and the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil

The Jardin des Plantes invites you to explore nearly four centuries of scientific discoveries. This park’s greenhouses and verdant aisles offer a stroll filled with beauty and the wonders of nature’s bounty. Children will love the zoo, while the recently redesigned Great Gallery of Evolution fascinates everyone.

In the same spirit, the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil (Garden of the Greenhouses of Auteuil) awaits you just 15 minutes from the hotel via bus service 52. This essential botanical garden boasts five main greenhouses and shelters some remarkable fauna and flora.

The Jardins du Trocadéro

The Jardins du Trocadéro, created for the 1878 World's Fair and then redesigned for another international exposition in 1937, reflect various 20th century garden concepts. Different ambiances and perspectives draw you on, from the 19th century rockeries to the monumental architecture of the 30s. You can get there in a few minutes using bus service 72.

Champs de Mars

Finally, the Champs de Mars, a few steps from the Hotel Auteuil Tour Eiffel, extends its nearly 25 hectares from the Eiffel Tower to the Ecole Militaire. Parisians come here to picnic or take a nap in the sun, while the more active jog or do yoga.

The beauty of Paris is also reflected in its parks and gardens. With the return of the warm days, why not plan some green Parisian walks for your next stay?
